Well I too scan the original, and then Print a case label for the back-up.. Since I only back up disks I own, the worst case is I may have to print another case label if the case gets damaged....

I just found DVD Case Label inserts (cheap) at the following site:

http://www.meritline.com/cdcasin.html

50 sheets of matte are = $9.99
50 sheets of PhotoGlossy - $14.99

These are the inserts for the movie cases!

I don't have any problem with play back my labeled dvd's. However, if one wants to remove the label, it is a lot easier if you placed the labeled dvd in warm water for a while then just peel it off.

Found the meritline 50 matte dvd inserts for only $6.99 here. And S&H was less than meritline.

http://www.tapeguys.com

The glossys are higher though at 19.00. They also have the meritline cd/dvd labels at $6.95 per 50 sheet/100 labels

They also have double dvd cases for .44 per.

"50 matte dvd inserts for only $6.99 " I just use plain old legal size paper and then cut out. Looks fine and cheap.

Thought this was a non-issue. Discovered it to be a HUGE issue. Discovered that apparently the adhesive somehow affects the media after the label cures. EVERY labeled disc I own that was labeled more than 6 weeks ago has failed including those played all the way through and prviously viewed and all the rest that were previously verified as perfect. By contrast, all but one of the roughly 20 discs that were printed on inkjet printable media were fine. Anyone else go back and check your labeled DVDs to see if they've deteriorated?
