I read it..but I have no problems with original dvd until I burn them and using different media's..

It's looks to easy to me, when you say buy a new one.

I've problems with ALL movies when splitting. Example again..

Lord of the Rings..
Splitting on Fuji +R media...first dvd works, second none..I also tested the abandon menue here..
Splitting on HP +RW media....everything works fine..

So what's the reason therefore?

Burning a DVD like LastBoyScout (no splitting necessary)..
Works with all DVD's...

Have you tried the HP bitsetter utility yet? My Samsung DVD-S221 will only work with Drive Mode 2.

When you split on ANY +R the second disc doesn't work EVEN if you use Abandon Menu? BUT, that if you use a +RW it does work?

Does the second +R disc play in your PC?

Have you tried JUST burning disc 2 by itself?

i'm having a problem with my second disc also i have a vivastar combo unit and it burns the first one perfect and the second one if i use a rw i get a disc error 20408h at the end of burn and it'll play only in the pc if i use a sony r i get the first disc and it jumps around play only a few min of each chapter when i look at the ch it's shows double listing of then no all but quite a few

I didn't use the abandon menu on all but when I tested with that abandon, it also didn't work.

yes.

yes, same result. I bought some new media and I'll have a few more tests over the weekend..let you know..

That's plain weird. I really don't know what to say about that. The fact the both discs play fine on your PC, and only the second +R won't play on your player is strange. I'd say it is a compatibility issue since +RW plays fine. Again, +RW IS the + standard, so it is not only conceivable a +RW would play where a +R won't, on older players it's highly likely. But for only second discs to not play... Hey, 321_Guy, step in here. This one's odd. The only other thing I can say would be to try all the differenmt options for the second disc and see if any affect anything.
