I have hit my first snag with 1.5. I am trying to copy Farscape, Season 1, Disc 1. DXC appears to split the disc ok, but the second disc will not play, in any player I try. My tabletop Sony DVP-NC615 loads the first two titles, then stops and begins to search the carousel. My HP 200i and Toshiba SD-R5002 don't recognize the disc as a valid DVD. I've burned to both + and - RW. I've tried burning it Normal, Start with Movie (Keep Menu), and Start With Menu. I've burned with Gear and external Nero 5.5.10.0. I don't think the burn engines are the problem. IFOedit won't play the files either.
If anyone has had success with Farscape, could you please post and let me know what you did to get it to work?
Thanks.

On Farscape discs, you need title sets 1 thru 4 on both discs for it to work. You will have to manually put them in disc 2. Restart DXC to do disc 2.
Farscape discs are a little tricky. You will have to play around with the configuration for each disc, to make the set work.

1.5 works EXTREMELY well with Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. Occasionally it puts two episodes out of sequence onto the discs. (Episodes 1 and 4 will wind up on one disc and episodes 2 and 3 will be put on the other. In rare instances, like Deep Space Nine Year One Disc One, one of the episodes will be split into two separate parts on the two discs.) It also works almost perfectly with Cosmos. (The Special Edition credits at the VERY end of some episodes are put onto disc two instead of staying on disc one. On the problem side, it still doesn't work with the Monty Python dual layered discs, the second set of Horatio Hornblower discs, From The Earth To The Moon, The Civil War, and The Beatles Anthology. Other related titles like Paul McCartney: Back In The U.S. also do not back up properly. In other words, you CAN'T back them up. Not yet. I have faith that the 321 boys will solve the puzzle eventually. The bottom line is, 1.5 is by far the best version they've ever made. It's more stable than previous versions and it's able to back-up more titles than any of the older programs. Three cheers to 321!

Version 1.5 does a better job of splitting Episodes, like "24", but the disc won't plan on my Panasonic 30... which file or part of 1.5 could I take out and insert into 1.4.1 version to get the same "split" for episodes?

vkonicek,
I highly doubt you can mix & match the best of 1.4.1 & 1.5. Although 1.5 has better episodic support, some people lost compatibility. I know 321 is working on a 1.5.1 version which should hopefully resolve all issues.
I'd either leave DVDxCOPy alone until 1.5.1 comes out, or go back to 1.4.1 if you are having problems.
I'll warn you in advance that many people have had trouble un-installing 1.5 & going back to 1.4.1. It seems the un-installer is not removing everything & leaving a conflict. If you can restore to the point prior to the 1.5 update ( Restore point or image ) then you are set.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. I will wait for 1.5.1 to copy 24 Hours... and continue using 1.4.1 until 1.5 become compatible with more DVD Players...
I don't have any trouble removing 1.5, I use the "regidit" and delete everything.

I've been having some problems backing up The Family Guy Seasons 1 + 2. Each of the 4 disks that came in the set has seven episodes. ALthough the chapter splits are fine (e.g., 3 on one, 4 on the other), it literally took about 2.5 hours just to download it, that's not counting the actual burn. As I was burning the 2nd disk, I got a disk error and created a coaster. I'm not sure why DXC has so much trouble with these episodic disks. All the films I've backed up have been flawless.

In order to get 1.5 to work, I had to reformat my system drive. Something happens in the regester, and either 321 doesn`t know, or thier not telling. Compatability got better with the clean install. You do need to be in dma mode for everything to work.

Add Mystery Science Theater 3000-Eegah! to the list. I tried v1.5 and v1.52 and DXC splits it before chapter 24. There are 24 Chapters to this movie and it's only 97 minutes long. I've got 4 other MST3K movies that I haven't tried yet, but I'm guessing they'll probably be the same.

Try burning with "start with movie, abandon menu" and see if that helps.

I tried that with no luck. I even moved the split point so it splits before the first chapter, i.e the start of the movie, but it keeps coming up with the "burn failed" error message. I also tried to skip to the second disc with no luck either. I'm gonna give v1.5 another shot. Maybe I'm missing something.

Version 1.5.2, tried backing up From the Earth to the Moon first disc. Tested with DVD+RW discs and was as best I could tell successful. I remember experimenting with the split point several times, and not coming to a real conclusion on where to leave the split set to. Eventually I just fed it discs and let it rip figuring on the +RW discs I could always mulligan and try again.
Surprisingly, it seemed that I got a good backup, with the second disc starting with Part 3 of the series. I figured that meant it worked, and I should go for trying to burn on -R media. I tried that, and though the first disc seemed to burn ok, it refuses to burn the second disc.
Has anyone been successful in backing up From the Earth to the Moon and what did you have to do to make it work?
Thanks in advance

People with HBo box sets: it seems some are having probs with the third season disc. Does that Happen to mean that u successfully managhed to backup the first two seasons? I would love to know what HBO series/seasons have been successful as I have six feet under, sex and the city, and of course the sopranos to back up. I can confirm that BOB backs up perfect w 1.5 just leave everything same and hit copy!

Futurama Season 1 backs up fine. Cept for a slight hang up on 3 of the discs. The first episode on those discs stops playing after the first chapter. You have to hit 'play' or 'next' and it plays the rest of the episode flawlessly. Annoying, but it's still all good.

I noticed the same thing about DS9, the out of order episodes. Except that by putting them out of order they put the first and second parts of a continuing story on the same disc.
Dr Who:
The Keys to Time have all backed up perfectly.
Jazzbo:
I got the same error message using 1.52 with Stargate SG1. I got a " sector " error message with 1.5 & SG1, but they were caused by the same thing. Before you attempt to burn the disc check the size of your Dvd Xcopy folder.I used DXC`s default splits. Even though DXC said it was splitting 8 GB`s weirdly, the DXC folder done with 1.5 contained 8 gb`s and hence the " sector " error message. With 1.52 & SG1 the folder was 6 GB`s and I got a "burn failed" error message. I eventually used a odd split of apprx. 500 mb`s for disc 1 and 4 Gb`s for disc 2, according to DXC. When I checked the folders before burning they were both apprx. 4 GB`s each and both disc`s for SG1 came out perfect.

RaulDuke... correct, one and two were okay. I found that <edited by 321_Q/A for content> worked on the last disk of season 3 but split episodes to one per DVD.
