I have similar probs.

My dvd's work fine when played in the burner on my pc (Cendyne 4x dvd+r/+rw).

However, 5 out of 8 have problems when I play them in my living room on my APEX AD-1500...intermittent skipping.

I thought it was a compression issue, at first - but Lord of the RingS: Fellowship of the Ring works perfectly on my APEX AD-1500. It's over 3 hrs long, so cant be compression.

I burnt a second coaster, I mean copy, of Matrix, this time shutting down all software running in the background...and it still skips in the exact same places.

Any suggestions?

(I'm using Memorex DVD+R 4X media)

As has been stated hundreds of times in this forum, do not burn at 4x! That alone accounts for most of the skipping seen by people on this forum. Try using 1x or 2x and report back.

I'm using DVD Xcopy express. How do I lower my burn speed? I cant seem to find it via the software...is it some setting I'll have to change on my control panel?

I have the latest versions of all the software. This is not due to 4x copying. It did it before using 2.4x also. The errors come from other means. I think it is with the way the software encodes some movies. I got that error with Equilibrium, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and others. Maybe it has something to do with the way the software encodes the video from scratched disks. Who knows what the problem is, but for paying $1 for a dvd blank 4x. Burning at 4x is much faster than 2.4x and the quality of the movie seems the same.

I have a problem I haven't seen listed on this fourm. I'm using a Pioneer 106D Burner and TDX 4X Blank Media, DVDXC X Ver. 2.5.2. The only thing that will read the Burnt DVD is the Pioneer 106D which burnt the Disc, NOTHING ELSE will read the Disc's. I am running Windows XP Pro., on a Micron PC with a Pentium 4 2.4. I have 512 of Mem and 2 80 Gig. HDs. Any suggestions. When I use DVDXC everything works fine.

All,
There has been some idiot posting crap all over the Forum using a handle very similar to mine. His handle was 321_QA. (mine has a slash between Q and A. 321_Q/A)

He was trying to pass himself off as me.

His posts have been removed and his account has been revoked, and he has been banned from the forum.

I wanted to let everyone know that these posts were not made by me, and I'm doing everything I can to keep this from happening.

If anyone spots any posts that they do not feel should be here, please PM me and let me know so I may take the necessary steps to remove them.

BTW.. Sorry in advance for the cross post.
